All Private Hire coaches picking up passengers from London Luton Airport are required to pay a fee of £10 for a 'Pick Up Permit'.
The permit entitles the driver to park a vehicle in the 'Coach Layover Area' within the Mid Term Car Park for a period not exceeding 24 hours and, at the allotted time, to pick up passengers in the dedicated Coach Pick Up Lane in the Priority Set Down Area adjacent to the Terminal.
To obtain a 'Pick Up Permit' all drivers must report to the APCOA Car Parking Office in the Mid Term Car Park. On entering that car park drivers should follow signs for the 'Coach Layover Area,' park in one of the dedicated coach bays provided and report to the Car Parking Office.
APCOA staff will issue the driver with a permit and provide information about the arrival time of the relevant flight. Coaches will only be allowed in to the Priority Set Down area when the flight that they are meeting has landed.
In response to customer requests, effective from 1 April 2010, Pick Up Permits will be able to be pre-booked and paid for in advance. From this date customers wishing to pre-book can call 01582 395479 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to make the necessary arrangements.
Any coaches arriving at the Priority Set Down Area to pick up passengers without the requisite Pick Up Permit in place will be redirected to the Mid Term Car Park obtain same.
Please note coaches dropping off passengers at London Luton Airport using the Priority Set Down Area Coach Lane may continue to do so free of charge but will be subject to an enforced maximum stay duration of 10 minutes.
