FAQs - Parking

Where can I park my motorcycle?

Parking for motorcycles is available free of charge in the Mid Stay Car Park for a maximum of 14 days. After 14 days, charges apply at the normal daily rate for the car park.

Although London Luton Airport car parks are monitored, we advise customers to lock their motorcycles and disable them when possible, as vehicles are left in the car parks at owners’ risk. Please also note that this is not a covered area.

How do I get permission to park in the Staff Car Park?

If you require access to a Staff Car Park, you must speak to your Authorising Officer who will make the necessary arrangements.

Once permission is granted, your company will be notified, who will then advise you. You can then come over to the Personnel Centre and collect your car park disc. Access will be placed on your ID Pass at the same time.

Car park discs must be collected within one month of you being notified it is ready for collection. Otherwise the disc will be destroyed and your Authorising Officer will have to apply again.

Use the dedicated email address to ask any further questions about staff parking at London Luton Airport.

What if I have a trailer or caravan, or a large vehicle like a motorhome, limousine or tall van?

If you take up more than one space, we’re sorry, but you’ll have to pay for the extra space(s) used.

So, please get in touch before you book or turn up, and we can tell you if your vehicle is too big for a single space and how much you’ll have to pay.

If I have pre-booked, what happens if I arrive early or leave late? Do I have to pay extra?

Yes, you might have to.

So, it’s always a good idea to allow a little extra time for unexpected delays.

An overstay charge will be charged if your vehicle remains in the car park you have booked for a total period which is 2 hours or longer than your total booking period. For each part or full additional 24 hour period your vehicle remains in the car park, the overstay charge will be calculated at a rate of a full 24 hours of additional parking at the charging rate displayed at the entrance to that car park. The overstay charges will need to be paid on exit from the car park (unless the car parking option you have booked is “Priority Parking” in which case you must pay the overstay charge at the reception desk located in the Priority Parking area on the second floor of Terminal Car Park 1). A credit or debit card will be required for payment at the barrier. We don't charge any card fees.

Do I have to tell you if I’m coming in a different car than I told you about when I booked?

Yes. Our entry barrier cameras record your car registration number. So, if you arrive in a different car, we won’t be able to match the registration to the booking.

If you don’t tell us, you’ll end up paying twice, and the extra charges will be charged at our pay-on-the-day rate displayed at the entrance to the car park you use. The extra charges will be debited to the card you used to make your original booking.

You can change the car registration in your booking at via the Manage my Booking feature on the Luton Airport Car Parking website or by calling us on 0345 303 7397, as long as you do it 24 hours before your chosen car park entry time.

Do I get allocated a space when I pre-book?

You don’t get an allocated space, instead you just find one you like.

If you turn up and can't find a space in the car park you have booked, use the ‘help’ button at the entrance to the car park and let us know.

If the car park you have booked is full, we’ll give you a free upgrade, or, if that’s not possible, we’ll put you in a cheaper car park and refund the price difference.

How do I pay if I haven’t booked?

Charges for pay-on-the-day parking are displayed at the Car Park entrance.

Take a ticket from the machine at the entrance barrier and keep it with you at all times.

On your return, you pay for your parking at the Pay Stations provided, and you’ll need your ticket to do that.

There’s at least one Pay Station in each car park and others in the terminal building.

The Pay Stations accept cash, Visa debit cards, and Visa and MasterCard credit cards.

If the Pay Station isn’t working, use the ‘help’ button, and we’ll direct you to your nearest alternative.

I’ve lost my parking ticket. What should I do?

If you had a physical ticket on entry and have misplaced it, the best course of action is to go to the reception desk located in the Priority Parking area on the second floor of Terminal Car Park 1.

If you lose your ticket, you’ll be charged the full 24 hour rate for each day or part day your vehicle has been in one of our car parks at the charging rate displayed at the entrance to that car park.

What does the disabled parking accreditation mean?

Our Disabled Parking Accreditation

In recognition of our efforts to be an inclusive airport, our car parks have been awarded the Disabled Parking Accreditation, an initiative set out by the charity Disabled Motoring UK (DMUK) and managed by the British Parking Association (BPA). The initiative aims to improve parking facilities for disabled people in the UK.

What is London Luton Airport doing to help disabled people?

Our car parks fulfill the recommendations set out by the Disabled Parking Accreditation by offering the following:
  • Accessible parking bays - meeting the British Building Standards and having 327 accessible bays available across the whole airport site, so that disabled motorists can park with ease
  • Ease of access - Clear pedestrian routes from accessible car parking bays and compliant lift access
  • Clear signage - clear directions, information and instructions on parking
  • Alternative payment methods - those unable to pay using the ticket machines have the option to pay using a card at the exit barrier
  • Concessions - Blue badge holders benefit from a reduced gate tariff in Terminal Car Park 1
