Frequently Asked Questions

Topic: ID Unit

Q: Why is a Security ID Pass Suspended?

A:

If a Security ID Pass has not been used for a period of 60 days, it will automatically be suspended ('parked') on the access control database. This is a requirement by the Department for Transport.

Once a Security ID Pass has been suspended, it can only be reactivated on receipt of a Reinstatement Form (Form Ref: RE1) which must be completed by an Authorising Officer stating why the Security ID Pass has not been used.

In an emergency, the Authorising Officer may contact the ID Unit via telephone and request the Security ID Pass be reactivated.  The reinstatement form must be submitted to the ID Unit confirming the details within 24 hours, or the Security ID Pass will be suspended again.
