Q. How do I obtain a Criminal Record Certificate?
Answer:
A person requiring access into any Security Restricted Area and or Critical Parts must be in receipt of a valid Criminal Record Check at Basic Disclosure Level. This must still be valid on the day you collect your Security ID Pass.
Applications should be made to Disclosure Scotland and can either be made in paper format or using the application form on Disclosure Scotland's web site: www.disclosurescotland.co.uk
Following the recent publication (April 2010) and subsequent implementation of the European Union document, which outlines the common basic standards and requirements in relation to Aviation Security, a declaration detailing any criminal history in all states of residence during the preceding 5 years is required as part of the pre-employment check. A 'state of residence' is defined as ANY country that the person has been a resident of continuously for 6 months or more.
When the applicant receives their Criminal Record Certificate they must hand it to their Authorising Officer. The Authorising Officer must check the certificate to ensure that the applicant has no disqualifying criteria. The applicant must bring their certificate with them when they collect their Security ID Pass
