Q. What is GSAT training and who requires it?
Answer:
General Security Awareness Training (GSAT) is a course designed to cover various security aspects of the airport. It includes:
• The Threat to Aviation
• Objectives and Organisation of Airport Security
• Restricted Zones Protection and Access Control
• Prohibited Articles
• The Trainee's Role in Aviation Security
All staff that require Airside Access will need to complete a GSAT Course. However there are people who are exempt from GSAT training. Details can be obtained from either your company or from the Department for Transport website
