London Luton Airport backs campaign for A Fair Tax on Flying
Published: 06 July 2012
The UK’s Air Passenger Duty (APD) is the highest air passenger tax anywhere in the world.
Two weeks ago a major new initiative was launched by A Fair Tax on Flying alliance, which London Luton Airport supports, designed to demonstrate to MPs the strength of feeling about APD amongst businesses and the travelling public.
The campaign’s goal is for thousands of people over the next few weeks to send an email to their MP to demonstrate the strength of feeling around APD. In the first two weeks an incredible 10,000 did just this but the campaign needs more support if MPs are to be convinced that there is widespread feeling amongst constituents about this.
London Luton invites all passengers, employees and stakeholders to support the campaign, it takes just 20 seconds to do, the text of the email is already written, just enter your postcode and send it.
The Airport would like to encourage everyone to visit www.afairtaxonflying.org to make their voice heard.
