EL AL launches flights from London Luton
Published: 26 March 2009
London Luton Airport is pleased to announce the launch of EL AL flights from London Luton to Tel Aviv. Israel’s flag carrier will operate the service 6 times a week with flights due to begin from Sunday 3rd May 2009.
London Luton Airport Managing Director, Glyn Jones, said "We are delighted EL AL has chosen London Luton for the new Tel Aviv service. The airport offers exceptional convenience to passengers, with improved road access and a great rail service running from central London to Luton Airport Parkway in 20 minutes. We will provide EL AL passengers with a fast and efficient airport experience and a choice of products and services to enhance their journey."
Uri Danor, EL AL CEO, UK, Ireland and Northern Europe said: "We are excited about our new venture and are working closely with London Luton to launch the service in May. The flight timings are particularly good for passengers as our departures and arrivals will be at times when the airport is at its quietest enabling swift boarding and disembarkation. We will be using B767 aircraft offering both Business and Economy cabins with full meals and drinks services. The services are ideal for both leisure and business travellers."
Flights will leave London Luton from Sunday to Thursday at 12.15 and arrive in Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport at 19.05. On Fridays the departure is at 09.45 with arrival at 16.35. The return flight will leave Tel Aviv Sunday to Thursday at 07.30 arriving at 10.50. On a Friday the flight arrives at London Luton at 08.50.
