Published: 07 June 2011

London Luton Airport is pleased to announce that Monarch has now expanded its scheduled programme to include Corfu.

This service will operate from London Luton to Corfu International Airport on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.  Prices start from just £68.99 one way including taxes and charges.

Simon Harley, Business Development Manager at London Luton Airport, says:

"It is great to announce the start of this new scheduled service to Corfu with one of our trusted partners, Monarch, which has built on the success of its charter flights last year. With excellent weather, beautiful beaches, a wealth of historical sites and other tourist attractions, Greece is one of the sunshine destinations of choice for discerning travellers. Corfu even has the added advantage for sports lovers of being the home of Greek cricket!”

This route is the 12th scheduled destination operated by Monarch from London Luton Airport and summer 2011 will see a further 20,000 passengers attracted by low cost affordable air travel within easy reach of London, the South East and the Midlands.

Notes to Editors

London Luton Airport is one of the UK’s largest airports and carried almost 9 million passengers in 2010. The Airport employs over 500 staff, is a key economic driver for the region and a major base for ‘low cost’ or ‘no frills’ air travel.

easyJet, Wizz Air, Ryanair, Monarch, Thomson, Aer Arann, EL AL, Blue Air and Flybe operate from the airport, departing to over 90 destinations including services to Europe, Africa, and Asia, with onward connections to Mumbai, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Beijing and Bangkok via Tel Aviv.

The Airport is operated and developed by a consortium of which Abertis Infraestructuras, a leading European infrastructure provider, is a 90 per cent majority shareholder and Aena Internacional, the international business arm of Aena - the Spanish national airport and air traffic control organisation, is a 10 per cent shareholder.
