Wizz Air Celebrates 5th Birthday at London Luton Airport
Published: 27 May 2009
Last week saw a very special birthday celebration at London Luton Airport. Five years ago Wizz Air launched its first service from Katowice in Poland to London Luton. Today you can choose to fly from London Luton to 15 destinations across Eastern and Central Europe and the Ukraine with Wizz Air.
To mark the occasion, passengers enjoyed special Wizz Air branded cupcakes as they arrived to check in. Heart FM were on hand to entertain passengers in the check in area and host a competition that saw one lucky winner head off on a fantastic 7 night four star holiday to the Black Sea resort of Sunny Beach, Bulgaria. Local resident, Matthew Vyse and his girlfriend Heather Weller arrived at the airport with their bags packed; passports in hand and after correctly answering the questions, checked in and flew off on holiday.
Jo-Ann Lloyd, Marketing Manager at London Luton Airport said "In the past five years Wizz Air has opened up Eastern and Central Europe with low-cost travel and has given us our first flights to the Ukraine. We are delighted that Wizz Air has chosen London Luton to be partner in the airline's success story and we look forward to celebrating many more milestones together in the future".
