The sun shines on Airport carnival fun

Published: 04 June 2009

Spirits were as bright as the sunshine when London Luton Airport took part in the Luton Carnival on Bank Holiday Monday. Employees from across the Airport worked together with pupils and teachers from Barnfield South Academy in Luton to join the parade of more than 70 floats in the UK’s biggest one day international spectacle.

The theme for the Airport was the elements, Water, Wind and Fire the school pupils were adorned with brightly coloured outfits and three lucky pupils wore the centre piece costumes, one for each of the elements and danced their way through the streets of Luton.

Simon Earles, General Manager, Planning and CSR, London Luton Airport said "This is our second year as participants of the carnival, last year we were proud to win the best newcomer award and this year we cemented our commitment to the event as headline sponsors.  The carnival is truly a unique event and something that the Airport is delighted to be part of.'
