Terminal Challenge

Airport team cycle to Paris by bike in a day!

Published: 21 December 2012

London Luton Airport staff this week completed a gruelling 12 hour charity challenge and raised £600 for Sue Ryder, the Airport’s Charity Partner.

Dressed as Santa Claus, a Christmas Tree and a Christmas present the team rowed and cycled their way from London Luton to Paris, a total of 331 miles, simulating on static machines the distance that will be covered by an Airport team when they cycle the route for real in September 2013.

The challenge began at 5.00am and ended shortly after 5.00pm on the 18th December, donations were received from passing passengers and colleagues,  further donations are welcome via or via text giving, simply text PARI59 to 70090 stating the donation amount.

The event is just one of many planned for the coming year, as the bike ride team work towards raising a total of £30,000 for Sue Ryder through the Bike Ride Challenge.
