London Luton Airport Launches New Website
Published: 05 January 2011
Following an extensive review, London Luton Airport has launched a new website with an improved design and simplified layout to allow visitors to access the information, or book the service they need, quickly and more easily.
Visitors landing on the home page can now choose between sections containing all the specific information they require whether they are planning a trip, travelling soon, meeting and greeting or in search of Airport information. The website also has enhanced booking engines for car parking, flights, holidays, accommodation, hotels, car hire, Priority Lane and Executive Lounge.
Frequent users can customise the content they regularly require by selecting homepage “widgets”, the placement of which will then be stored for when the user next visits the website.
The website is also linked to social media channels through the “share” icons and users can choose to follow the official London Luton Airport Twitter feed, or become a fan on Facebook.
Louise Ross, Website Project Manager at London Luton Airport said “The new website is the first of a number of measures London Luton Airport is introducing in 2011 to enhance the passenger experience. Our research and development for the new site focussed on ease of use and we were greatly encouraged by the positive feedback we received during testing, particularly for the way in which the site can be customised for frequent flyers and can be accessed through a variety of social media.’
New websites have also been launched at TBI abertis airport’s Belfast International, Cardiff and Stockholm Skavsta.
All websites were designed and developed by Fivesite.

Notes to Editors
London Luton Airport is one of the UK’s largest airports and carried almost 9 million passengers in 2010. The Airport employs over 500 staff, is a key economic driver for the region and a major base for ‘low cost’ or ‘no frills’ air travel.
easyJet, Wizz Air, Ryanair, Monarch, Thomson, Aer Arann, EL AL, Blue Air and Flybe operate from the airport, departing to over 90 destinations including services to Europe, Africa, and Asia, with onward connections to Mumbai, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Beijing and Bangkok via Tel Aviv.
The airport is operated and developed by a consortium of which Abertis Infraestructuras, a leading European infrastructure provider, is a 90 per cent majority shareholder and Aena Internacional, the international business arm of Aena - the Spanish national airport and air traffic control organisation, is a 10 per cent shareholder.
