The Data Protection Act 2018 gives you the right to see information held about you, including CCTV images of you. We have installed CCTV systems in some areas of the airport used by members of the public, for the purposes of public safety, crime prevention/detection, and for security purposes.

If the incident you wish to enquire about occurred more than 30 days ago please do not submit an enquiry as the footage will have already been destroyed.   Please note that the airport holds CCTV footage for a maximum period of 30 days; on some cameras, footage is held for as little as 14 days.

If the footage is required for the detection and investigation of a crime then the footage will be reserved for the Police. In such circumstances you, your insurer, or your solicitor will need to contact them directly for a copy. You will not be able to request footage relating to any other persons without their express consent and identification being provided.

It is also likely that the airport will send an edited version of the CCTV footage in order to protect the identities of other people in the footage.

The airport reserves its right to deny access to CCTV images/ footage in accordance with the exemptions set out in the Act e.g. for the purposes of safeguarding national security, the prevention or detection of crime, the apprehension and prosecution of offenders, regulatory activity etc. The airport will consider the specific circumstances and make its decision accordingly.
