Our Technical Services Department
London Luton Airport Operations Ltd is dedicated to running LLA in a safe and responsible manner. In order to achieve this, our Technical Services Department (TSD) looks after the airport’s assets and controls any works on-site by third parties or contractors.
It is essential that all works undertaken are controlled and completed to ensure the safety of all.
We have specific processes in place to make sure this happens, such as control of contractors and work permits are required before any work can take place.
Work Permits
Third parties or contractors wanting to conduct any form of work at London Luton Airport must apply for a permit to work through the 'Work Authorisation' system.
All permits have to be approved and issued by an authorised person before work can proceed.

Parking for contractors at London Luton Airport
Contractors are authorised to park at either Terminal Car Park 1 or the Mid Stay Car Park at a discounted tariff.
To be eligible for this tariff, contractors must validate the parking tickets using the validator machine in Priority Parking on Level 2 of TCP1, or by visiting the Mid Stay reception once they are ready to exit the car park.
Contractor Car Park tariffs:
Terminal Car Park 1 (max vehicle height of 2.1m)
Duration | Reduced tariff |
1 - 8 hours | £4.00 per hour |
Over 8 hours | daily rate of £32 per day applies |
Mid Stay Car Park
Duration | Reduced tariff |
0 - 4 hours | FREE |
4 – 12 hours | £5 |
Over 12 hours | daily rate of £16 per day applies |
How to apply for a discounted tariff
To obtain a discounted car parking tariff, contractors must follow the following process:
- Contractor lists vehicles involved as part of the request for a work permit.
- Registration numbers are included in the work permit issue.
- Contractor presents both work permit and car park entry ticket at the end of shift to Priority Parking staff (2nd floor) in Terminal Car Park 1 or staff in Mid Stay office. The APCOA team will verify details and apply the tariff; contractors can then make the payment at a pay station or exit.
Please note: The tariff will NOT be applied if the registration numbers are missing from the work permit or if the ticket is incorrect.
