Job purpose summary
LLA is on an exciting journey and recently assisted Luton Rising in securing a Development Consent Order to expand the airport. This will include significant airside and landside infrastructure development, including upgrades to transport links should the expansion proceed.
LLA operates as a stand-alone UK group consisting of 5 companies with 1 main operating company, 1 external debt company, 1 shareholder debt company and 2 holding companies.
This role will work closely with the Group Financial Accountant, Reporting Accountant and the Group Financial Controller to deliver accurate results in a timely manner.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
Month-End and Financial Reporting Support
- Assist in preparation of monthly results, including journals, accruals and prepayments
Balance Sheet, Controls and Compliance
- Performing internal controls testing and providing evidence to support key controls operated by the Finance Team
- Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Submission of ONS data as and when required
- Processing fixed asset additions and disposals in LLA’s asset management system
- Utilising Oracle NetSuite and Workiva reporting systems
Audit, Statutory Reporting and Tax Support
- Assisting the Group Financial Accountant in the preparation of annual audited financial statements and biannual unaudited financial statements for the Group
- Assisting with the preparation of tax information as required by advisers
- Working with external and internal auditors to provide information as required
Stakeholder and Ad Hoc support
- Ad hoc work to support the wider business and Finance Teams
LLA Way and Guest Experience Contribution
- Contribute to delivering a great guest experience by performing your role with accuracy and efficiency. Recognising that every task whether guest facing or behind the scenes contributes to supporting the company’s overall LLA Way Strategy and service standards.
- Proactively and positively promote the LLA Way initiatives and projects with all employees and the wider airport community.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
LLA is looking for an enterprising self-starter who has the values shared by the wider business, being Ambitious, Trusted, Friendly, Professional and Inclusive, with the desire to continually learn. - Willing to learn statutory reporting and group accounting concepts
- Confident on Microsoft programmes including, MS excel, etc.
- AAT student currently working in finance team, or a graduate looking to study towards their accountancy exams.

Travel is not anticipated with the role, however, on occasions both trips within the UK and overseas may be required, as will occasional long hours. This should be considered when applying for this role.
