Sofia, Bulgaria
Get lost in Eastern Europe and discover a city full of culture, history and marvellous architecture. There are plenty of world-renowned museums to delve into and learn from including the National Museum of Archaeology, the National Gallery and the Sofia History Museum. The St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is also spectacular and a must see on any trip to Sofia. Transylvanian Highlands, Romania (Sibiu)

They are easily accessible from Sibiu and the breath-taking, medieval castles and fortified churches will not disappoint. Our favourite one is at Biertan (pictured); take a short hike up from the village onto the hillside and view it from above – just WOW.
