Check-in and Security

When you get here

When you arrive at the airport, please confirm your Assisted Travel (previously Special Assistance) requirements at the check-in desk.

If you’re not checking in, go to the Assisted Travel Desk opposite the ChangeGroup Currency Exchange at the departures entrance.

At this point, you’ll be given your pre-boarding time. Customers should make sure they’re at the Assisted Travel Waiting Area in the Departures area by their pre-boarding time.

At Security

If you’re with one of our Assisted Travel (previously Special Assistance) team, they’ll take care of everything.

If you’re not with one of our Assisted Travel (previously Special Assistance), please explain your requirements to a member of our Security team. They’re fully trained to help all customers and will be sensitive to your particular requirements.

Remember that all passengers must go through a security screening, but private search areas are available on request.

How long should I leave between check-in and security?

The length of time you should leave between check-in and Security will depend on your luggage.

If you’re travelling with hand luggage only, you can walk through the check-in barriers and straight to Security. If you’re carrying additional luggage, you should always allow for queuing time at the check-in desk.
