Picking up or Dropping off for Blue Badge holders

Advice for those using our Special Assistance service or have a blue badge

We recommend you use the Drop Off/Pick Up Zone or Terminal Car Park 1 for dropping off or picking up passengers with reduced mobility needs.

The Drop Off/Pick Up Zone is our closest option for those with mobility needs. Located right outside the terminal building, the Drop Off/Pick Up Zone costs £5 for five minutes and £1 per minute thereafter (max stay 20 minutes).

Alternatively, our next closest option for blue badge holders and those with booked assistance is Terminal Car Park 1, where you can benefit from reduced rates including 30 minutes of FREE parking or reduced rates for longer stays up to 24 hours.

* This is a reduced tariff specifically for blue badge holders and those with booked assistance, to take advantage of reduced rates please take your blue badge or confirmation of booked assistance to the Priority Parking office on the second floor of Terminal Car Park 1 and tell them that you are a blue badge holder or you have booked assistance and you would like to validate your parking ticket to get reduced rates.

By pressing the button on the help points you will be connected to our PRM service provider, Wilson James.  Wilson James will ask how they can best assist you and establish what assistance is required, i.e. 1 x wheelchair, help with luggage, etc.

Wilson James agents will then come and assist you from the help point to the terminal building, collecting you from the help point you called from.

On your return journey, please remain seated on the aircraft until all other customers have disembarked. The Wilson James team will then be able to assist you off the aircraft. If required, Wilson James staff will assist you through Border Control, baggage collection, and out to your onward transport (e.g. down to the Drop Off/Pick Up Zone).

Are blue badge holders exempt from charges in the drop off zone?

Unfortunately, no concessions are available to blue badge holders in this area. However, blue badge holders and those who provide proof of booked assistance get 30 minutes FREE and preferential rates for dropping off in Terminal Car Park 1. See more information here.
