FirstGroup has taken over the operation of the shuttle buses between Luton Airport Parkway and London Luton Airport terminal.

The new shuttle service has four brand new air-conditioned buses, each over 18 metres long and able to carry up to 97 passengers plus luggage.  This provides double the capacity of the old buses offering passengers and staff a seamless, high quality link between the train and plane. The service runs every ten minutes between 05:00 and midnight and also connects with all trains calling at Luton Airport Parkway overnight.

First Capital Connect now has a bigger sales presence at the Airport with a new sales desk in the Onward Travel Centre and more ticket vending machines that will be installed this week.

First Capital Connect is making a considerable investment in the shuttle bus vehicles and people. To cover the costs of the new service, members of the public will now be a charged for use of the shuttle bus.

Rail passengers will be able to purchase through tickets to London Luton Airport.  Those passengers arriving at Luton Airport Parkway station without a through ticket to the Airport and who wish to use the shuttle bus will pay an Excess Charge of £1.00 each way if they arrive at the station by train.

Passengers arriving at the airport or at the station without purchasing a rail ticket will pay a bus fare of £1.50 single, £2.50 Standard Day Return and £3.00 Standard Open Return (children pay half price).

Regular rail services to central London take as little as 21 minutes with Midland Mainline and 25 minutes with First Capital Connect.

Other destinations include the south coast, the Midlands and northern England.

A shuttle bus service operates to and from Luton Airport Parkway Station, this is normally just a 5 minute trip from the airport terminal building. The service runs every ten minutes between 05:00 and midnight and also connects with all trains calling at Luton Airport Parkway overnight, please check train times for details.

However, there are extensive roadworks on the approach to London Luton Airport.

Major roadworks are in progress on the M1 motorway and the main approach to the airport - both will affect access to London Luton Airport. Passengers travelling from Luton Airport Parkway Station by bus or taxi are advised to expect delays for the duration of these works and are strongly advised to leave additional travel time to get to London Luton Airport.
