Title: Commercial & Compliance Analyst

Work patterns: Minimum 6 months secondment. Monday to Friday unless otherwise required

Job purpose summary:

The what: The Revenue & Strategy team is responsible for reporting, forecasting, business intelligence, and analytical support across the entire commercial team.

The how: The team delivers forecasting capabilities while maintaining business-critical tools to ensure strong governance of commercial contracts.

The role: In this role, you will help the entire commercial department in delivering analysis and business intelligence tools to drive insights and improve further commercial revenues.

You will be responsible for maintaining commercial contract databases, ensuring efficient contract management, and improving further governance across the department. You will play a central role in providing commercial contract governance while ensuring sound compliance with internal financial controls.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Help develop BI tools: assist the Head of Revenue & Strategy and the Commercial Analytics Manager in the implementation of Business Intelligence initiatives

  • Own the commercial contract databases and drive improvements in compliance: 
    • To own, maintain, and improve centralised commercial contract databases

    • To maintain business-critical contract and board paper databases, enabling the commercial team to plan, renegotiate, or retender upcoming contracts in a timely manner 

    • Support the existing owners of ICFR controls in commercial compliance

  • Provide analytical support throughout the commercial department

    • To work in collaboration with the rest of the analysts, supporting the entire commercial directorate across various projects and presentations

    • To prepare internal presentations for senior management, supporting the delivery of business cases, tenders and commercial negotiations

  • Any other tasks, appropriate to the post, which may be required from time to time.

Knowledge, Skills and experience:

A successful candidate for this role will have:

  • Naturally analytical with a minimum of two years within an analytical or accounting role 

  • Organised person with strong attention to detail

  • Previous experience in reading through and interpreting commercial contracts

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Power BI is desirable

  • Can prioritise and adapt to a rapidly changing environment

Person specification:

  • Excellent communication skills: both verbal and written, in English

  • Autonomous self-starter: self-motivated individual who takes initiative and can work both autonomously or collaboratively to drive desired outcomes.

  • Team player: confident and willing to work as part of a small team
