Job purpose summary:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Legal Team at LLA. The airport operates in a competitive, fast paced, rapidly evolving and commercial environment, that works with various stakeholders and other organisations.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Ensuring the provision of timely and effective legal advice to the business and to assist the General Counsel in providing the same to executive management and the Board.
- Drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts.
- Provision of corporate, commercial and regulatory legal support to other departments and management, including Estates, Marketing, Finance/Tax, Procurement and Commercial, Construction and Technical Services.
- Supporting legal induction and other legal training to LLA staff.
- Producing and keeping up to date the corporate policies for which the legal team have responsibility.
- Supporting legal compliance activities and delivery of compliance programmes.
- Taking the lead on horizon scanning for legal/regulatory changes.
- Supporting insurance risk management activities.
- Supporting the General Counsel with company secretarial duties when required.
- Supporting on corporate transactions and construction/development projects when required.
Qualifications required:
Required:
- Newly Qualified to 4 years Post Qualification Experience.
- Solid experience of drafting and negotiating variety of commercial contracts.
- Willingness to learn and expand knowledge in other areas of law.
- Genuine interest in compliance matters.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously, whilst also collaborating effectively within a team and fostering relationships across departments.
- Capable of partnering with the business to provide practical, compliant solutions to complex challenges
- Strong presentation skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear and practical advice to diverse audiences.
- Skilled in constructively challenging colleagues when necessary to drive effective outcomes.
Preferred (but not essential):
- In-house legal experience
- Experience in drafting policies and delivering or designing legal training.
- Experience in designing and/or delivering competition law, anti-bribery, anti-tax evasion facilitation, modern slavery compliance programmes.
- Corporate, Litigation, insurance, property, data protection and/or planning law experience.
- Prior experience in the aviation industry.
