Marrakech

A bustling city in Morocco known for its vibrant souks, historic medina, and stunning architecture.

About Marrakech

Situated at the foot of the Atlas Mountains — Africa’s longest mountain range — Marrakech holds centuries of fascinating history within its city limits. It’s one of four imperial cities in Morocco, along with Fez, Meknes and the capital, Rabat.

As you walk around Marrakech, you’ll quickly realise why it’s called the “Red City”. Many buildings are made out of iron oxidised clay from the nearby Al Haouz plains to the city's south.

Spend hours wandering around Marrakech: stroll around the medina with its 19 kilometres of dusky pink walls, walk through the windy alleys, watch local performers at Jemma el-Fnaa and more. Whether you’re a serious shopper or just browning, you’ll be amazed at the sights, sounds and smells in the souks!

Escape the hubbub of Marrakech with a visit to Jardin Majorelle. Exotic plants, water features and a museum dedicated to Berber culture celebrate the very best of Morocco. Discover Morocco’s history by taking a tour of Koutubia — it’s a mosque built on 12th-century foundations.

Fly from London Luton Airport to Marrakech in 3 hours 40 minutes.
