Getting a taxi to the Airport?
Getting a Taxi to London Luton Airport is a quick and effective option. We’re close to the M1 and M25, which makes London Luton Airport easily accessible from not only Luton and surrounding towns and counties, but from all over the country.
Where will my driver drop me off?
Your driver is likely to take you to the Drop Off and Pick Up Zone. Charges apply in this area, and your taxi driver is likely to add this cost to your overall taxi fare. Don't forget to check this with your driver or taxi company beforehand, to avoid any additional fees.
Taxis dropping off in the Drop Off (and Pick Up) Zone charges
The Drop Off Zone is £7 for 10 minutes and £1 per minute thereafter, although it is likely your taxi driver will include this in your overall fare. Your taxi company will have until midnight the following day to pay the charge. Your driver can pay for the Drop Off Zone here.
Directions for taxi drivers
So your taxi journey to the airport goes as smoothly as possible, your taxi driver should use the postcode LU2 9QT, and on approach to the roundabout before the tunnel, they should disregard your satellite navigation and immediately follow the signs directing them to the Drop Off Zone.
Distance between the Drop Off Zone and the terminal
The terminal entrance is just a 5-minute walk from the Drop Off Zone. Simply follow the signs for the terminal, and you will go through a tunnel that goes underneath the road. Go through the tunnel and walk straight towards the terminal. The walk is only 260m from the terminal building, and the surface is mostly flat. View the map here for clearer directions.
Alternative FREE Drop Off options
Your taxi driver can drop you off for FREE in our Long Stay Car Park. If your taxi driver chooses to drop you off here, they will have two hours to exit the car park before being charged.
Passengers can then take the FREE shuttle bus, which runs approximately every 20 minutes and takes around 10 minutes to reach the terminal. Buses operate to and from the terminal 24 hours a day and the bus stop is right outside the terminal front. You can't get any closer!
You can find all drop of options here.
Give yourself plenty of time
Whatever option you choose, make sure you arrange your taxi so it arrives at the airport 2-3 hours before your flight is due to depart, giving yourself plenty of time to get through Check-in, Security, and see what's on offer in our departure lounge.
