To Gatwick Airport (Direct Train)

Changes: No change required (excluding DART)

Journey time: approx. 1 hour 20 minutes - 1 hour 45 minutes.

Southbound Thameslink trains run straight through central London (stopping at London St Pancras International, Blackfriars, and London Bridge) and continues directly to Gatwick Airport.

Heathrow Airport (LHR) ✈️ 

Option 1: Luton Airport Parkway to Heathrow via Farringdon

Changes: 1 changes (excluding DART)

Journey time: approx. 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes

  • Take a Thameslink train southbound to Farringdon, then change onto the Elizabeth Line westbound.

Option 2: Luton Airport Parkway to Heathrow via Paddington

Changes: 3 changes (excluding DART)

Journey time: approx. 1 hour and 30 minutes

  • Take the southbound Thameslink train to London St Pancras International, then take the London Underground (Tube) to London Paddington (via the Circle or Hammersmith & City line, or Bakerloo line).
  • At Paddington, change onto the Elizabeth Line westbound.
  • Or alternatively you can get the Heathrow Express, which is a faster, non-stop service taking approx 15 minutes to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3. Tickets for the Heathrow Express must be purchased separately here.  

 

To London Stansted Airport

Changes: 1 changes (excluding DART)

Journey time: approx. 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes

Step 1: Luton Airport Parkway to London Liverpool Street

  • Take a Thameslink train southbound to London St Pancras International.
  • Change onto the London Underground (Tube) from King's Cross St Pancras to London Liverpool Street (via the Victoria Line/Central Line or Northern Line/Central Line).

Step 2: London Liverpool Street to Stansted Airport

  • Take the Stansted Express train service directly from London Liverpool Street to Stansted Airport.

To London City Airport

Changes: 2 changes (excluding DART)

Journey time: approx. 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours

Step 1: Luton Airport Parkway to Stratford International

  • Take a Thameslink train southbound to London St Pancras International.
  • Change onto the Southeastern High Speed train to Stratford International or use the London Underground (Tube) to Stratford.

Step 2: Stratford International to London City Airport

  • From Stratford, take the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) service directly to London City Airport DLR station.

From Gatwick Airport (Direct Train)

Changes: 0 (excluding Luton DART)

Journey time: approx. 1 hour 20 minutes - 1 hour 45 minutes.

Step 1: Take a Thameslink train Northbound and it will take you straight through central London (stopping at London Bridge, Blackfriars, and London St Pancras International) and continues directly to Luton Airport Parkway.

Step 2: Make the final connection from Luton Airport Parkway to the terminal via the Luton DART.

From Heathrow Airport

Option 1: Via Farringdon

This option uses the Elizabeth Line and Thameslink.

Changes: 2 changes (excluding DART)

Journey time: approx. 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes

  1. Take the Elizabeth Line eastbound from Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3, 4, or 5 to Farringdon station.

  2. At Farringdon, change onto a Thameslink train northbound towards Luton.

  3. The train will stop at Luton Airport Parkway.

  4. Connect to the terminal from Luton Airport Parkway via the Luton DART.


Option 2: Via Paddington and St Pancras International

This option uses the Elizabeth Line (or Heathrow Express), London Underground (Tube), and Thameslink.

Changes: 3 changes (excluding DART)

Journey time: approx. 1 hour and 30 minutes

  1. Take the Elizabeth Line eastbound or the Heathrow Express (purchased separately) from Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3, 4, or 5 to London Paddington station.

  2. At Paddington, change onto the London Underground (Tube) to London St Pancras International. Use the Circle Line or Hammersmith & City Line (eastbound) or the Bakerloo Line (northbound, requires a second change) to reach St Pancras.

  3. At St Pancras International, change onto the Thameslink train northbound towards Luton. The train will stop at Luton Airport Parkway.

  4. Connect to the terminal from Luton Airport Parkway via the Luton DART.

From London Stansted Airport

Changes: 3 changes (excluding the DART)

Journey time: between 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes.

Step 1: Stansted Airport to London Liverpool Street

Take the Stansted Express train service directly from Stansted Airport to London Liverpool Street.

Step 2: London Liverpool Street to Luton Airport Parkway

  1. Change onto the London Underground (Tube) from London Liverpool Street to King's Cross St Pancras (via the Central Line/Victoria Line or Central Line/Northern Line).

  2. At St Pancras International, change onto a Thameslink train northbound towards Luton.

  3. The train will stop at Luton Airport Parkway.

  4. Connect to the terminal from Luton Airport Parkway via the Luton DART.

From London City Airport

Changes: 3 changes (excluding the DART at Luton)

Journey time: approx. 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Step 1: London City Airport to Stratford

Take the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) service directly from London City Airport DLR station to Stratford.

Step 2: Stratford to Luton Airport Parkway

  1. From Stratford, change onto either the London Underground (Tube) or the Southeastern High Speed train to London St Pancras International.

  2. At London St Pancras International, change onto a Thameslink train northbound towards Luton.

  3. The train will stop at Luton Airport Parkway.

  4. Connect to the terminal from Luton Airport Parkway via the Luton DART.
