Alicante

A vibrant city on the Mediterranean coast known for its beautiful beaches, historic sites, and lively nightlife.

About Alicante

Nestled along the picturesque Costa Blanca in southeastern Spain, Alicante is the capital of the Alicante province and a Spanish cultural hub. The city boasts a beautiful waterfront, with sandy beaches, palm-lined promenades and crystal-clear Mediterranean waters. Visit Playa del Postiguet or take a short bus ride north to Playa de San Juan for hours by the sea.

Alicante’s more than beaches. Discover the city’s vibrant cultural scene in its museums, theatres, and galleries that feature exhibitions on local art, history, and traditions. Wander around centuries-old landmarks; it's easy to see the Santa Bárbara Castle, the Santa María Basilica and the Co-cathedral of San Nicolás in a day. Spend hours in the charming maze of narrow streets in the glorious sunshine — Alicante receives on average 300 days of sunshine a year.

Alicante is also famous for its lively festivals and celebrations, including the colourful Hogueras de San Juan in June and the traditional Moors and Christians festival in April. Blending natural beauty, cultural richness and Mediterranean charm, Alicante offers visitors authentic Spanish life and hospitality.
