Day 1: Explore the Giza Pyramids

It wouldn’t be a trip to Cairo without visiting one of Ancient Egypt's most renowned sites, the Pyramids of Giza. The amazing designs are something you will never forget, and some tours even include a camel ride! See the Pyramid of Khufu - the largest and oldest pyramid - stand tall in the centre, surrounded by the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, and a further trio of temples.

Day 2: Cruise the River Nile 

Another one of Egypt’s famous attractions is the longest river in the world, the River Nile. Book a boat trip and spend the evening cruising down the Nile while you enjoy the stunning architecture and the city lights. Did you know the River Nile is over 4,000 miles long, flows through 11 countries, and is one of the longest rivers in the world?

Day 3: Take a trip to Alexandria 

Want an unforgettable day filled with Mediterranean views, diverse history and famous landmarks? It's a two-hour drive from Cairo to Alexandria, so we'd recommend visiting the port city in the middle of your Cairo trip to maximise your time. And if you look out over the water, you'll see the beauty of the Mediterranean coast,

Day 4: Royal Mummy Gallery 

Based at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo, the Royal Mummy Gallery holds over 50,000 artefacts from all eras of Egyptian history, presenting the Egyptian civilisation from prehistoric times to the modern era. Make sure you see the 20 Royal mummies that have been preserved for 3000 years. And once you've walked around the museum, spend time by the Ain el-Sera Lake catching some sunrays.

Day 5: The Egyptian Desert 

Last but not least, make sure you have some fun in the Egyptian desert if you're visiting Cairo. With so many activities including dune-bashing, sandboarding and camel rides, you’ll be spoiled for choice. Don’t forget to visit the mesmerising natural Wadi El Rayan waterfalls - the largest waterfalls in the country.
