Crete

Crete in Greece is a stunning island known for its beautiful beaches, ancient ruins, and rich history.

About Crete

Did you know Crete is the largest of over 6,000 Greek islands? With at least 300 days of sunshine a year, it’s no surprise that Crete is riddled with sandy beaches, warm and hospitable people, and lots of sights to see.

If you’re on a family holiday to Crete, visit one of the many water parks on the islands. Stay central at Acqua Plus or Watercity Waterpark, or head west to Chania and splash around at Limnoupolis. Want to explore the historical side? Take day trips to coastal towns of Agios Nikolaos and Spinalonga Island. Why not even go underground at Dikteon Cave, the birthplace of Zeus, King of the Gods.

Chania is one of Crete’s largest cities. It holds a captivating past, thanks to successful conquerings by the Byzantine and the Ottoman empires. From here, visitors can also go by boat excursion to Crete’s famous Balos Beach, where white sands and pale blue waters attract people from all over the island.

Fly from London Luton Airport to Crete Heraklion in 4 hours.
