Following formal approval from the CAA, RNAV was implemented on the 20th August 2015.

After an extensive public consultation and approval from UK regulator, the Civil Aviation Authority, in 2015 we introduced the latest GPS technology to improve aircraft track keeping to a new, narrower flight path. Over 90% of 1400 respondents said they were in favour of the changes, including local action group, Save our Skies. As a result of the changes, the number of people directly overflown has been reduced from approximately 13,000 to 3,000 people.

On the 6th October 2016 we held a meeting with local communities to review the implementation of the RNAV flight path along the 26 westerly Brookmans Park (BPK) route. Residents, Parish, Town, District County Councillors and community groups from the local area attended.

The final Post Implementation Review data was sent to the CAA on Monday 30th October 2017; the CAA will review this data, and will publish the outcome of the Post Implementation Review together with the data as soon as the review is complete. There have been no dates set by the CAA for the completion of this work.

See the attached paper for more details about the discussion items and the presentation slides from the day.
